RIP Karma

No Plugs Tonight.

Karma.
My wonderful kitty cat, Karma, passed away today, at the age of 7.  She was a beautiful, wonderful cat, and I already miss her.  My kids made me cry today with how much they said they missed her, and the young son said before bed, he missed having her to cuddle.

Something strange happened to her last night, I think she had a stroke (symptoms were very similar).  She woke me and my wife up, bawling (she never bawls) and could not move well, was incontinent, and seemed to be in pain.  She was also wheezing and gasping heavily.  My wife and I spent the rest of the night with her cuddling and trying to ease her pain, and she was not better in the morning.  I thought she would pass in the night, and the wife took her to the animal hospital, who wanted a mortgage payment just to keep her overnight and do some tests . . .

Of course I feel guilty ordering her euthanasia, but I did not want to see her suffer anymore.  Karma, you were a wonderful animal, and awesome pet.  More on her, and a regular blog tomorrow.

Sad day. B is asleep. I’ll tell her tomorrow. Karma’s Sister was acting very strange and needy all day. Granted we just got back from vacation, but usually, she’s all pissy when we get back.

    The world grieves.

Sorry to hear that, ol boy — especialy since 7 is rathr young fer a cat.

And th euthanasia dcision is NEVR easy, since its probably psychologicaly impossible to keep from seckon-guessin yerself — “Did I ackt too quickly? Did I wait too long?” etc., etc. …

    I been there.

My sympathies to you and your family, Malach. Losing a pet is never easy. I’ve flirted with the idea of taking one day out of the year to celebrate all the pets that’ve passed on in my life. Not sure exactly how it’ll work, though.

If I took one day, that would be like 2 months. I have always had cool cats, Karma was probably the coolest (her and Fritz who had similar personalities)

Sorry to hear that Malach! It is so tough to not only loose a pet but also be the one there for your kids who miss them too. My sympathies.

I’m sorry for the loss of your loved one. The last pet I had to put down was my last pet. That was ten years ago. I just can’t bear the thought of losing another one.

Thanks for the sympathies, I will post the grave and memorial me, the wife, and kids made for her tonight.
