Double Team, by Tenacious D. Ahh, the D. Formed by comedian Jack Black and Kyle Gass in 1993 or so, they had a fairly large cult following until they, and most especially Jack Black exploded into the mainstream. With their crude, absurdist, mock rock, they make me giggle, especially songs that bring a hilarious mental picture like this one. Now, just image Murk and Malach as the protagonists of this song.

That would be Kevin Garnett, which from what I am gathering is a all but done deal between the Celtics and Timberwolves. Congratulation Danny Ainge, you just made the Celtics as relevant as they have been since the Bird/Parrish/McHale era. This immediately vaults the Celtics to the number one team in the East (yeah, Detroit, Miami, and Cleveland aren’t even close) and one of the top 4 teams in the NBA (better than the Lakers, and even the Mavericks). Yes, Al Jefferson’s potential is going to be missed, but this trade is a no-brainer. How do you stop a team with 3 top 25 players (Pierce, Allen, Garnett?). Barring injury, this team will win 50 games.

RIP Tom Snyder
Many of the young ‘uns aren’t too familiar with the man. A pioneer in the late night talk show genre, highly influential on guys Letterman and John Stewart.
RIP Ingmar Bergman
A highly influential Swedish director best remembered for the 1957’s The Seventh Seal, Bergman was highly influential in bringing art to movies. He is considered one of the big three arthouse film makers with Akira Kurosawa, and Frederico Fellini, catch a film of his or two, you won’t be disapointed.

The Cartoon Network MMORPG: Fusion Fall
Well for those of you that care there is a ton of new information out about it, including screenshots (like at left) and a new website. Looks quite a bit like it will be similar to in a way to Kingdom Hearts. For up to date information you can check here. Bill Walsh is certainly the most influential football coach since 1980. I mean, the whole damn league runs the west coast offense.
Tom Snyder was basically what Letterman wanted to be — someone who was more than just a jokester. I love Letterman, but you could tell for a long time that Letterman kind of wished he was something else. He could friggin’ pissed when Snyder got bought out and Kilborn got brought in. I think he could in verbal fisticuffs with Kilborn the night he had to interview him. I remember one night he said that the show wouldn’t be the same and that some other guy was taking over.
