Yankees made a smart move telling A-rod if he opts out they won’t won’t re-sign him. it takes away Boras’s bargaining power with other teams. he can’t use the yankees as a trump card to make the few teams that can afford him pay more than he’s worth using the yankees as leverage. meaning the angels don’t have to try and outbid the yankees offer of 32 million with 35 million a year and then worry that the yankess will counter with 40. driving up his price. I think he stays a yankee for good or bad.
