List of Demands (Reparations) from Saul Williams. Saul Williams is some one I have recently come to really like, referred from blog buddy Here Today Gone Tomorrow. Obviously a very politically oriented social conscious artist, who is a poet, actor, writer, and musician. He blends alternate hip hop with poetry, and of course his pseudo first album was collaborated on my Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails. And yes, The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of NiggyTardust! is like the greatest album name ever.
He is basically a modern day version of Gil Scott-Heron.
Oh Manny!
You came and you gave without taking, but they sent you away . . What do I say. I suppose first, I got to thank Manny. Without Manny, we don’t win 2 World Series. Yes, we had to put up with his Manny Moments, and some of the crazy stuff he did, like this and this. And yes, he got pretty unbearable to a lot of people this past year, in fact, I dedicate this blog song to him, but Manny, the lovable goof who was one of the best right handed power hitters of all time will be missed. Thanks Manny, from Red Sox Nation, now drive Joe Torre nuts, and I hope your go to the Yankees next year, THAT WILL BE FUNNY.
Now for the trade. Brandon Moss. This is a good move for him, he’s got potetial, though I don’t think he will any more that a good player. At worse, you will have a pretty good utility player. Like I said, he will get playing time in Pitt, so we will see. Craig Hansen. He’s sort of an enigma. AMAZING filthy stuff. 97/98 Fastball, with a NASTY slider. He was never able to find consistency here in Boston. If I am the Pirates, I make him a closer and see if he can do that.
Jason Bay. No super familiar with him beyond the numbers, and his all star appearances. But looking at his numbers, they are very similar to Manny’s, and he is going from Pittsburgh a pitchers park, to Fenway. He is also going from hitting between Ryan Doumit and Doug Mientkiewicz, to hitting in a combo of Ortiz, JD Drew, Lowell, Pedroia, Youkilis, which will give him tons of protection . . . no hopefully he can handle the spotlight in this market and not be the next Edgar Renteria.
I am excited, having played on sport teams where one guy, and his attitude brings the whole team down . . . like Nomar in 2004.
KMP Softball
So, we had our last game today, win and we clinch first, and top spot in the playoffs, lose and we’re in second. So get this, we were playing the Outlaws . . . they had to forfeit, couldn’t get enough players together. Nice huh. So we decided, since we all drove out to the Wesport boondocks, we would fool around, we took their 7 players, and our 11, and split up and has a fool around scrimmage. Of course that ended when my best player got hit in the eye with a deflected ball. Busted a gash under the eye, and swelled it shut. Luckily because we were fooling around, it was a lob, the deflected off someone’s arm. Luckily still, we get a bye next week, so he can heal, along with my 3rd baseman who’s coming off a badly sprained ankle, and my center fielder, coming off a hip pointer.
So, playoffs for us will start 8/11 at 6PM, opponent to be determined at Livesey Field in Fairhaven, I expect your all there to cheer on your Kombucha Mushroom People. I am talking to your Eve and The Angry Piper especially.

C. Rag, Her MadMan, and the Unborn One, were supposed to close on their new house today, I am not sure if they did cause of her latest blog post, but congrats if you did.
Ahh, joining the rest of us living the paycheck by paycheck American Dream!
The Car Accident
So I was on at the intersection of MacArthur Blvd and Union St. in New Bedford. I was parked in the left lane waiting for a green light. There is a right lane that goes right there. To my right there is this baby blue mid 90’s Ford Mustang 5.0 (all souped up, rims, aero package), and behind that a big Ice Truck. We are all waiting at the red light. Suddenly, this truck lurches forward, smashes into the back of the Mustang, and pushes it about 15′.
So the idiot in the Mustang screams, jumps out of his car, and starts yelling and swearing at the truck driver. The truck driver says “Dude, I’m sorry, the clutch gave way, and the truck lurched forward, it surprised me and took me a few extra seconds to toss on the handbrake, it is my fault”, all the while, the gold chained idiot in the Mustang is yelling, screaming, and swearing his head off at the guy, right under his window, and now to the right of my passengers side.
So I jump on the phone and call 911 to report it, they ask me if anyone is hurt, I say “No, but someone might be if you don’t get the cops here soon” (Yeah, I am like my internet personality). They guy is still yelling, so I yell out my passengers side, “DUDE! They guy already told you it was his fault, no one was hurt, it’s just a freakin’ car, move it out of the intersection before it gets really wrecked and wait for the cops”. That seemed to break him out of his tirade, he moved his car onto the state pier, gets out and starts yelling and swearing again, now he is at the front of my car, drivers side, yelling at the truck driver again. Now the truck driver is pissed and yelling and swearing at him. The light changes to green, and I say: “GUY! Calm down, the cops will be here, and now your blocking traffic and are gonna get killed, go back to your car and wait.” He looks at me, and then is about to say something when police sirens go off, a cop points at him to head to his car, and I drive off. It is just like work!

I ran into Manny last year in San Diego when they were playing the Padres. He walked into a restaurant my wife and I were at that was basically empty.
He would not give us a picture or an autograph - either then, or when we saw him later that day on the street in front of our hotel.
He. Is. An. Ass.
We’ll miss his bat and his presence for sure. But I’m not going to miss hearing about him year after year after year - both at training camp and at the trade deadlines.
Later Manny - thanks for the memories.
Now get the fuck out.
Well, you have to give anyone who replaces Manny a 10 point mulligan on his batting average to account for the bonus the team will feel with Manny’s bullshit out of here. Not to mention the fact that nobody really could be sure Manny was actually going to bother to play for the rest of the year if he stayed here. After all, he took the last month or so of 2006 off.
In the end they had to trade him to be fair to the other players who actually show up and play hard every day- Manny’s utter lack of support for his teamates was simply too much of an insult to be allowed to go on. Dogging it on a potential infield hit that could have broken up a no-hitter showed exactly how much pride he took, and exactly how hard he wasn’t willing to play. See ya later.

Mooog: I met Manny once. My Special Olympics Softball team got to go on the field before a game, and stand at position with players. He was funny and nice, but is was a quick meeting
