No Plugs

You are listening too . .
We have moved on from Sonic Youth and now move into our next band who should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, The Cure.  The Cure, along with bands like Siouxsie and Banshees, Joy Division, and such, were groundbreaking in merging the lesson of punk and disco into post punk, new wave, and alternative music in the late 70’s and early 80’s.  The Cure is part of the early pioneers of the MTV generation, and paved the way for many of the big acts of the 80’s like U2, INXS, Adam Ant, Missing Persons, etc, etc.

This is 10:15 Satuday Night off their 1979 debut Three Imaginary Boys which was rereleased in the US as Boys Don’t Cry.  To me it is again very surprising considering The Cures beginnings, their influence on a lot of modern bands and culture, and the length and breadth of their career, they have never been nominated.  I will also agree, that after ‘89 Disintegration, they were not as good as their early, but neither are the Red Hot Chili Peppers after Blood Sugar Sex Magic, and they are going in this year.

That is all for tonight, got a lot of work to do, gotta finish up a website, and finish cleaning the house for the boy’s birthday party tomorrow, but being inspired by Joey Polanski, I am gonna try something.
