No Plugs

You are listening too . . .
The Cure first ever release Killing and Arab.  This song throws off a lot of Cure listener who are used to their early stuff.  The song itself is about a scene from a 1942 Novel, The Stranger.  Of course the song has kind of haunted The Cure through the 90’s and 00’s with all going on in the Middle East.  Robert Smith has changed the lyrics to “Kissing and Arab” and “Killing Another” over the past 20 years.

Dear Malach

  • Dr. John Rebello ask: Dear Malach, Has Bellichick has gone insane?  Ok, well about last night, Belichick defended it all day long, basically saying at the time it was the best way to win the game.  It is hard to defend the decision, and I am one of the biggest Kool Aid Drinkers out there, but here I go.  Two thoughts.  I think Belichick overthought it.    I will try to get into the mad scientists mind for a moment.  His defense was tired, over injured, and not stopping no one for the last two time the Colts had the ball.  I think he thought, I go for it here, if I fail, the Colts will score really quickly and it will give me enough time to get in field goal range to win.  If we punt, they will march down the field and waste all the time left in the game.  Of course it didn’t work.

My other thought was this:  Malach is REALLY GOOD at this job.  I am Bill Belichick of disability knowledge and services in Southeastern MA.  That give me a lot of confidence, hubris if you will, when tackling problems with that field.  Even I everyso often bite off more than I can chew, and it knocks me back down the Earth.  I learn something from it, and it make be even better (there is that hubris again).  I think this happened to Belichick.

  • Tiff asks: Dear Malach, What’s the weather like where you are, Malach?  You must be referring to the remants of Ida, which slammed you home in North Calalackey?  We got a bit of rain on Saturday, but nothing to extreme . . what was extreme was the temperature.  It was 70degrees plus all weekend!  November in New England!  I turned the heat off and opened window!  Today it was beautiful too, upper 60’s.  Of course, we are getting back to regular, it is 47 right now.

    Sad about Ken Ober.

I wondr if Ben Dover is still alive and kickin.

Th biggest loss tday was th loss o The Equalizer.

Jools Holland has a great show. Direct TV has its advantages.

Bellichick’s decision was simple. One play to win the game or an unknown amount of Peyton Manning plays to win the game. Look at the choice from a numbers perspective.

Can my offense gain 2 yeards? Yes, probably about 60% of the time.

Can Peyton Manning win a game with two timeouts, 70 yards to go and a tired opponent? Yes, the majority of the time.

Which choice lets you control the outcome?

Now, if the Patriots punt and lose, no blame. Indy was just that good. The 4th down choice left the control and also the blame with Bellichick. And they almost made the 1st down.

I wouldn’t call it stupid, just risky. All or nothing. I cannot say I would have done the same. But, I don’t think the result would have been any different had they punted.

So you are Belichick of Disability Services? Do you have Spygate?

  4. 4 Malach the Merciless

Joey: Or even is Crimson and Clover is still kicking

    Murky: I agree.

Dr. John: Not yet, they will never catch me either!
