More KMP Stuff
So, I spoke to a number of people and they were shocked at how “easily” we won the title.  Here was our strategy.  I pitched the same pitch over and over again.  A curve ball that starts way inside and breaks over the plate for a strike.  The Bull Dogs only have right handed hitters, so I would throw a meatball right down the middle for the first strike, then I would throw the same pitch just varying it’s depth, and left and right.  Had them guessing all series long.  Of course I had a AMAZING defense.  I leave you with some pictures, the first one is Malach, looking like he is telepathically trying to land a strike.

Malach is in the back row all the way to the right.  Dan in the front row 2nd in is our Coach/Equipment Manager/Cheerleader/Mascot/Umpire Cusser-outer.  Dan has Down Syndrome.  He is the brother to one of our players, I have known his since he was 12.  He is 24 now.  Meaghan on the end is our scorekeeper and good luck charm.  Every game she came to we won.  Wasn’t present for any loss, and missed the first game of the playoffs which we almost lost, so we forced her to come to the rest of them rain or shine.

And of course some after game partying at my house, so we wouldn’t get arrested, and I did apologize to my neighbors for these loud drunken fools.

LOST
OK, I can see why the started losing rating in the final two season.  The time shifts, the new characters, the open mystical nature; I am sure it became hard to follow for non geeks.  I love it personally.  I love the little jaunt to 1954.  I also love the way the continue to kill off annoying bit characters . . . FLAMING ARROW!

Why?  Got into a debate with someone today about Radiohead, and them saying how they got all avant garde and experimental after their first couple of albums.  I argued, no, they were that way with the first couple of abums, it was just more radio family, and I am going to use this song for one as a point.

Ahh, another new client
So, I have a new client who is a hoarder.  I have a few others, but this one is slightly different.  He lives in a 1 Bedroom, next store to another client I have, the Domestic Violence Guy.  He has a ton of stuff, but in a strange way it is kind of organized.  Also, unlike a lot of hoarders, his house is fairly clean, no dust, floor, at least what can be seen is swept and vacuumed, and his kitchen, while crowded isn’t disgusting.

Here is where it gets weird.  He rarely takes a shower and you can smell it.  He states he is “saving the landlord money of his water bill”.  Not sure why he wants to do that.  He also saves his adult diapers that he has worn overnight, but not defecated in.  He washes them as best he can, and hangs them to dry.  He feels he can reuse them.  He has a lot of stuff hanging around the apartment on clotheslines.

Some of the things he collects?  Plastic jars, bottles and cans to keep his large collection of pens in.  Couch cushions.  He use them to dampen the sound in his rooms, and to cover the baseboard, as he only turns them on in one room, and draft comes up them in the winter. He saves on electricity that way, but of course in the summer he has a window fan in everyone of the 16 windows in his apartment.  He has lots and lots of books, two closet full, several shelves full, and his part of the basement full.  Reciepts, I saw some from the 80′s.  And lost of various odds and ends.  He has paths through the apartment to get where he needs to go.

Interesting guy.  Obvious mental health issues, he does not acknowledge.  I also think he might be Aspergers Syndrome.  He was in the military for 3 yrs, and according to him honorably discharged, and gets a VA Pension.  He was in the military from 1969 to 1971, and in the military band.  Never saw action.  I have feeling he was discharged for mental health issues, but could not get him to open up on that.

Speaking of music, he is an accomplished musician, has his bachelors in music, but he does play because his Tuba and Keyboard are buried in his hoard.

We will see how this one goes.

A song by a wonderful little band that is no more.  The song is Hit from Discount.  They are kind of a interesting cross of Fugazi, a few Rrriot Grrrl bands, Liz Phair, Throwing Muses, and a few other sounds.  They broke up in 2000.  Too bad.

So he had his little tete au tete with the media today.  And of course he apologized.  I mean he needed to there was tons of money on the line.

In one way I feel bad for Tiger.  I mean he is a guy, and all guys are dogs  . . toss a few $100million dollars on top of that and you got women, women who would not give you the time of day, throwing themselves at you.

Of course, there is self control and discipline, which from what I understand, Tiger didn’t have even before he was married.

The Sleepy’s Conspiracy
First as a little aside.  MA is a smoke free state.  You cannot smoke in public, resturants, bars, etc.  Any relatives or co-workers I have that smoke?  They smoke outside on private property, including their own homes, or, if at work they have to smoke in their cars; they are not even allowed to smoke within 100 ft of a building entrance.  Of course today, I spent half the morning in truck with a chain smoker, and the afternoon, with client who is also a chain smoker . .  my lungs and throat are BEAT, I feel like I have a cold.  So little exporsure to cigarette smoke . .

So back to the Sleepy’s Conspiracy.  So we run a huge XMas program where we give out toys and clothing to close to 3000 families.  So we get a lot of local donations.  So I went out this morning with our guy who runs the food pantry, who has our truck to got too three addresses to pick up a “bunch of kids pajamas”.

So we go to the first location, which is in a shopping plaza, the address we have is for a Supermarket.  Marc goes in and they know nothing about it.  The rest of the stores in the plaza are close, or empty.  Ok, so we head to the other two locations, same thing, weird addresses, that don’t match, in shopping plazas, and no one has any clue what is going on.  What we both realize though is every one of these plaza’s has a Sleepy’s in it.  We called all the phone numbers for all the location and each time it would ring about 5 times, then this strange set of tones picked up.  The Sleepy’s did not open until 10AM, I had an appointment, so Marc brought me back to the office, waited to 10AM, and called the first Sleepy’s we went too.

Yes they had sent the email.  So Marc heads out by himself to pickup this messload of pajamas.  I then spent most of the day with the other client.  When I got back, I talked to Marc, and asked him how bad the load was just himself, he laughed.  Evidently, between the three locations, he filled 2 shopping bags worth of pajamas.  We are so used to filling the truck with donations we just assumed . . We thanked them anyway!

So I am looking at Rob Neyer’s top 100 Baseball players of the 00′s.  What immediately comes to mind?  Not an argument of who is up there but about how half of them were juicers, or suspects, or linked.

Another crazy day at work.
So this song fits in real well with my day of rushing around at work.  So I began the day, with our maintenance crew and the company truck moving a client in Assisted Living in Fall River to Subsidized Housing in New Bedford.  So I met there at about 9:30, after assisting the client in some better packing.  The guy had already picked up a ton of furniture, and the four of us emptied her room, and load the truck in about 45 minutes.  We trek over the New Bedford, and unload the truck into her new apartment, me and one of the guys stay around to put some furniture together and help set up her bedroom at least.  Then I took her shopping.

I got back to the office around 2PM, and the truck was back with the guys with our first load of XMas gifts for our XMas program, so I unloaded the truck, and started organizing that.  About an hour later, I went out to Wareham, in our truck with out Food Pantry guy to pick up tons of bread.  I returned to the office at 4:45.

I had an emergency voicemail from the client I moved this morning.  She had forgotten something she moved.  Out of all the things she could of forgotten, she had to forget the most important thing . . . HER INSULIN.

So, I run back out to Fall River, pick that up, and get back to the office just in time to punch out at 6:30.  I’m beat. 

Ohh Tiger . .
You, most of us will eventually forgive his behavior, but if he is linked to PED’s?  That would be trouble.

Bizarre Christmas Incident from Ben Folds.  A classic I tell you!  Off a must own XMas Album.

Do you know the muffin man?
So, this afternoon, my 6 year old daughter was upstairs changing, so I decide to scare her.  So I snuck upstairs, of course unfair me being a ninja and all.  As I am going upstair, I can hear my daughter singing “Do You Know the Muffin Man”.  Luckily she has my wife singing chops and not mine.  So, I sneak down the hall, and there she is, in her underwear, in front to the mirror, with her Catholic School uniform shirt, draped around her like a boa, singing the song.

Of course she sees me, screams and runs out of her room.  I am not sure what to make of it, and yes, she is a blonde.

So yesterday, we went down town to the Ocean Explorium and the Whaling Museum.  If you ever come to New Bedford, you gotta check out the Whaling Museum, frackin’ cool.

So the Explorium, is what is left over in the attempt to put a world class Aquarium in the city.  They have some cute little things, and are doing a big thing on Space in January.  So while we are there, I am watching a film on how several companies destroyed the Acushnet River over the past 100 years dumping chemicals into it.  One of those companies’ several of my relatives worked at, including my Memere, who we now call Meme, not to confuse her with my Mother which the kids call Memere.

So I am watching this, and of course, my wife asks me what I am watching.  In front of my kids, and the 50 or so people there I blurt out, “I am just watching a movie on how Mem destroyed the Acushnet River”.

So Mem, when the kids ask you about that, you know where it came from.

Ohh Tiger . .
Not that I am defending Tiger’s promiscuity here, but isn’t his wife the one who beat him with a golf club?  On the bright side, now that Tiger is out of the picture, Malach will be invading the PGA tour.

BABY IT’S COLD OUTSIDE!
Right at this second it is 26F (-3C) with wind chill making it seem more like 10F (-12). BRR it is cold.  Just last week, we had a 70 degree day.

So how was your day?
So Malach put a 172 miles in at work today.  Went from my home office in New Bedford to Citizens for Citizens in Fall River, then to our Fall River Office, from there, I went to Gabriel House where I am pulling a client out of.  Took the client to Disability Housing in New Bedford, MA, signed the lease, got her keys, and took her back to Gabriel House, then picked up my Domestic Violence Client and brought him to his new apartment to see the place and finish paperwork, and then I brought him back.  Then I went to see another client in Fall River, and then one in Taunton.  Spent 8:30AM to 4:30PM out of the office.  Got a similar day on Monday . . .

Maybe the only person in the world cooler than Malach is . .

A Christmas Carol
I had forgot to mention that last weekend the family went to see the latest screen version of A Christmas Carol.  It was interesting, though we did not see it in 3D so I think lost a bit.  It was pretty true to the original, a ghost story, and all the ghost were really cool, especially Christmas Past and Christmas Future.

Overall it was a good presentation, but again, I can’t help feeling it needed to be seen in 3D to be really appreciated. 

Still not my favorite, that would Mr. Magoo; The Muppets; and the one with with George C. Scott.

Need some help
Malach is a plethora of musical knowledge, I wish I had my brother talent for music, cause I think I would be famous.  I grew up listening to Paul Simon as my parents were big fans.  I am trying to find a song by him, or him and Garfunkel.  I don’t remember the name of the song, and the only thing I really recal from it is a guy dragging a carpet home for his wife, and the colors bleeding together (“the orange bled the blue”).  Image has stuck with me a long time.  Any help?  E-mailed parents and my brother, I just cannot find it anywhere.
