Happy Anniversary Superstar
Today is the 10 year anniversary of Malach and Superstar.  I love you very dearly.  For those of you who have never read Star Crossed Lovers, check it out.  It is Malach and Superstar’s love story.

And guess what I got her for our Anniversary?  Mario Kart.  When we first started going out, we would stay up all night playing that on the Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64.  Such a romantic.

Malach, making the world a happy place
So, where I work, we have the largest food pantry outside of Boston in MA, and serve about 1200 families per month, only opening the food pantry 8 days a month.  That is way up from a few years ago, when we only did about 400 families.

People donate a lot of stuff to us, clothing, toys, dishes, etc, and on food pantry days, we leave it out in the registration room for out clients to pick through and take what they need. SInce Malach’s son got a Wii for his birthday, I decided to leave their 2 year old V-Smile for our clients at the pantry.  On Thursday, I was suprised by a young 21 year old single mom, who ran upstairs to my office to profusely thank me for donating it.  She really wanted to get one for her 3 year old, but wasn’t sure she was going to have the money for it since she was unemployed and living on DTA assitance.  I was glad to inform her, the two kids loved it, and they gently used it, so it was in great working condition, and the games were only like $15.

That is one of the reasons, I love my job.

So, a co-worker of mine LOVES the two new floor I put in, in the dining room and kitchen the past couple of weeks, and has hired me for $350 to help him put in one in one of his apartments.  Nice, he is doing vinyl tile, which is a piece of cake.  Should only take us a couple of nights after work to bang this out. This will help defray the cost of a new TV.

So it was a $1.96 the other day at BJ’s in North Dartmouth.  I was all excited, I refuse to put more that $25 in when I get gas, and I got more than 10 gallons!  AWESOME!  It really makes you wonder though, seriously, gas was almost $4 gallon only 6 months ago, something is wrong there.

Besides a loss to the Colts, which they had chance to win, and considering all the injuries, they are playing pretty good.  Matt Cassel is turning into a pretty good QB, and being a free agent, he won’t be here next year, will be off to start somewhere.  Imagine him in a place like Chicago, Detroit, and such.  They are now past being like the 2001 Pats and moving into the 2003 Pats with their nasty D.  Also, Lawrence Maroney, I would be kind of worried about this BenJarvis Green-Ellis kid.

And the Celtics
I haven’t mentioned them much, but besides on strange hiccup in Indiana (on one of those home next day road games), they pretty much have left off where they were in the playoffs last year.  They spanked around AI and Detroit tonight, and this begins a 5 game in 7 days stretch, if they can win 4, they will be is awesome shape.

And guess what!
I actually watch a Bruins game last night . .  Hey Moog, this team, it’s pretty good.  Bergeron is back, Kessel has stepped up, and this team has found it’s checking and fighting again.  Tim Thomas it the #1 they have always had but did not realize it.  In first right now, I might, MIGHT start following them too.

Barack Obama
I really really hope that with him getting elected, it does not turn into a complete “black thing”.  Now don’t get me wrong, black people should be proud, but comments like this bother me.  It goes onto to my same issue with Sarah Palin feeling the US has God’s mandate to attack Iraq.  If God wanted to vindicate Blacks, why did he wait so long for a Black President?  I really am happy Barack is our next president, but I also want people to remember, that is is white folks like me that helped him get elected, and unlike and lot of people, I didn’t vote for him cause he is Black, and I have made my reasons very clear over the past 24 months why. 

And one other thing.  I have a friend or two who were McCain supporters, and they recently sent me something that said to the effect “Hitler was charasmatic too”.  Ok, I know they read this blog.  You guys do realize the Holocaust and the Genocide associated with it was not a hidden agenda of Hitlers . . . he was right out in the open about his hatred for the Jews and the Jews being what was wrong with the world . .
